Here are the introduction and information about the methodology:
[...] Our analysis looks at the respective network of Twitter accounts of Members of European Parliament (MEPs). Those networks represent informational ties between politicians that may shape communication flows between parliament members. We ask for the structure of MEPs following networks, in particular if and how nations and political groups are shaping those structures. Additionally, we are interested in follower relations between countries and political groups, and the most prominent MEPs within the network. [...]
A note on method
Follower connections of 402 MEP accounts (according to the official list by @Europarl_EN, non-individual accounts excluded) retrieved from Twitter‘s REST API on 24 Feb 2014. Coding of countries according to EP website. Network visualization with Gephi (Force Atlas). [...]
