A Data Privacy Legal Hackathon will be held 8-9 February 2014, in Brooklyn, NY, San Francisco, London, and online.
Here is a description of the event, from the Overview :
We invite you to compete in a weekend-long hackathon to create tools that solve common legal problems in the field of data privacy, to be hosted in the Bay Area, New York City, and London.
2013 was a landmark year in the public’s awareness of problems in data privacy. Edward Snowden, revenge porn, do-not-track, COPPA, and a few other key phrases come to mind. The new issues surrounding data privacy seem to steadily increase as the Internet of things continues to grow.
Regulators and innovators across the country have addressed data-privacy problems but have yet to develop actual tools to effectively address them. Join us and 100 fellow legal hackers in the Bay Area, New York City, and London as we compete to concept and deliver these tools under extreme time constraints. [...]
The event is organized by New York Legal Hackers, BLIP Clinic, Open Notice, and Customer Commons.
