Digiminster Members Data Portal has been launched by the UK Parliament’s Rapid Apps Team.
The portal includes voting and campaign finance data, and parliamentary debates, chunked.
Data come from a variety of official sources, including the Members’ Data Platform.
The following posts, from the team’s blog, describe the content and design of the portal:
- Matt Stutely: Member Voting and Contributions
- Matt Stutely: Reading Chamber Debates
The design of the presentation of debate data is especially notable. [Click here for an example.] The text is chunked into paragraphs, each having a unique URI. Each chunk is displayed in sequence, with a different background color, and accompanied by a photo of the speaker. The alignment of the photos alternates, to simulate dialogue.
